I’m a Relaxed and Confident Mommy ~ My Baby First Veggie

This was totally unexpected! With my son Matthew I waited until he was 6 months to start solid food … But withVicky I felt she was ready and besides she is just a few days to turn six months so I looked into my fridge and the first thing I saw were carrots.

I have three children but the age gap between my first and my second are 20 years. So when my little boy was born I felt like a new mom. I was pretty stressed out trying to do everything right. Everything had changed so much since my first daughter was a baby that I felt I had to learn everything again. I remember reading a lot about what to feed him first – fruits or vegetables – , looking for signs to know  he was ready to eat  solid food, allergies, starting earlier increases the risk of food allergies and obesity etc.. No wonder why I felt overwhelmed!!!

NOW…I am so much relaxed and confident! I don’t care that much about what other people says. I am the person who know what is better for my babies. Course, I follow  basic principles and use my common sense. With Vicky I started rice cereal when she was 4 months-old, hoping that would make her sleep a little bit more at night {it did not work}. And a few day ago I felt that she was ready to move forward.

Her reaction was so funny…At first she did not like it much! I got a weird face. She looked at me like wondering what the hell are you doing?

Then she loved it!  I am not  surprise that most of the carrots  wound up on my baby’s face, hands, and bib LOL

I know that feeding your baby his first spoonful of solid food is exciting  so do not stress much and follow your instincts. And most importantly, remember to enjoy along your journey of being a mom … They grow very fast!

Did you  feel  more confident after the birth of second child?

Pero mujer, you’re older and wiser now and I’m so glad to see you’re back in control. As you said, it doesn’t matter what new contraptions or theories/advise is out there- no one knows your baby better than you. So relax, have fun and enjoy. ESO!!! BB2u
